The Kerrang! staff’s top albums of 2024
You’ve seen the Kerrang! albums of 2024. Now check out what the staff were all listening to this year…
Australian punk firebrands Amyl & The Sniffers have announced six UK dates this winter.
Riotous Australian punk rockers Amyl & The Sniffers have announced six UK dates for November and December. The four-piece – who were featured in Kerrang!’s 21 Hottest Bands On Earth issue earlier this year – released their self-titled debut album back in May and have been sending crowds crazy all over the world.
The run begins in Wales on the last day of November and last until December 7, when they’ll play London’s Studio 9294.
Speaking to Kerrang! in that aforementioned issue, singer Amy Taylor remembered how they weren’t always quite such good live performers.
“I remember we played a show when our drummer and guitarist got into a fight onstage,” she told us. “It was about 10 minutes in, so there was still 20 minutes left. We had a fill-in bassist, so it was just me and this guy who didn’t know how to play properly. And then this guy [Gus Romer] got onstage and ended up being our bassist. It was fucked! But it all worked out.”

She also revealed – unsurprisingly, given how intense and visceral their live gigs are – that being onstage has resulted in a number of injuries over the years, but that she just shakes them off.
“Pretty much every show I fuck myself up somehow,” she said, “but that’s just evidence of a good night. Probably the worst injury was when I tore the cartilage in my knee, and every time I walked my knee was pecking away at the cartilage. I was going to get an operation but I didn’t. I think we pulled out of two shows and then for about three months I was limping.”
