Album review: Wisp – If not winter
Natalie Lu stands on the shoulders of her influences and creates shoegaze magic on her debut album, If not winter.
Fresh from the release of her debut album If not winter, Wisp has just unveiled a mesmerising cover of Coldplay’s Yellow.
Rising shoegaze superstar Wisp has just released a superb cover of Coldplay classic Yellow.
“Yellow to me is a childhood memory that I wanted to rendition into my present life,” she says. “A song that I never understood the depth of, to now relating to the lyrics and singing them with the emotion of my romantic journeys this past year.”
The rendition arrives in the wake of her 4/5-rated debut album If not winter, as well as some giant North American stadium shows with System Of A Down, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold and Deftones over the summer.
