Mad Cool reveal first names for 2025 including Weezer, Thirty Seconds To Mars and St. Vincent
Weezer and Thirty Seconds To Mars join the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Iggy Pop and Noah Kahan atop next year’s Mad Cool Festival bill.
Weezer cover Tears For Fears' Everybody Wants To Rule The World live on Jimmy Kimmel
Weezer love a cover version don't they? So much so that they released the an entire album of covers – dubbed the Teal album – earlier this year, including their own interpretations of Africa by Toto, Paranoid by Black Sabbath and Take On Me by A-Ha.
But this wasn't just a wacky studio project. Last weekend Weezer played Coachella and brought out Chilli from TLC for their bombastic cover of No Scrubs, and basically won the festival. Now they've enlisted the dudes from Tears For Fears to cover Everybody Wants To Rule The World live on Jimmy Kimmel. It might be the best thing to happen on late-night American TV this year. Just watch...
But because Weezer are Weezer, they've released two albums this year. Not just Teal, but the Black album too. If you're yet to hear it, you can watch Rivers Cuomo and co. smash out High As A Kite on Jimmy Kimmel below.
Weezer are no strangers to late-night talk shows as of late. Over on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, they performed a special barbershop quartet version of their gargantuan hit Buddy Holly. Because why not?
Weezer are headlining Brixton O2 Academy in London on June 29. Get your tickets now.
