Pop-punk upstarts Magnolia Park have dropped brand-new single Manic, their first new music since 2022's full-length Baku's Revenge.
The single release is accompanied by a new video, featuring friends and fellow Floridian pop-punks 408, and takes certain inspiration from blink-182's Dammit video.
"The concept of the video is a new take on Dammit, but we wanted to make a new spin on it," vocalist Joshua Roberts tells Kerrang!. "I think we kept the essence of such a polarising song and video, and made it unique and fun to watch for the newcomers and the rock mainstays to show we are here to stay... while also paying homage to those before us."
Speaking about the song itself, Josh says the song is about "toxicity" and "how it can ruin a person or even a whole relationship.
"The second verse we wanted to convey something that everyone has gone through so when we wrote, 'You’re always going through my text' and 'gaslight me make me think I’m dumb', we wanted to convey something that was true. I mean, in my case it was very much personal experience."
