Watch: Kelly Clarkson covers My Chemical Romance's Welcome To The Black Parade

Covers are good. Covers are fun. Covers are more often than not far more banter than you often find in music. Who doesn’t want to hear cheesy ‘80s pop hits done twice as fast (the easiest way to improve any song), or brutalised versions of boyband tunes? Exactly. Most people. Until they’ve had a few, and then they’re all about it.

Enter: Kelly Clarkson. She loves covers, so much so that she’s been doing her own series, named Kellyoake, on her eponymous chat show, which is a title so good it should be carved into marble. Now joining the ranks of bands like Radiohead and Depeche Mode are My Chemical Romance, who got the Clarkson treatment when she belted out Welcome To The Black Parade.

My Chemical Romance are on tour in Europe next year. We know you’ve still got loads of time on your hands, boys, so get working on returning the challenge with one of Kelly’s songs. Or just bring her with you, either’s good.
