twenty one pilots have spent the past few days online celebrating the 10th anniversary of their colossal 2015 album Blurryface – but fans are speculating there’s even more to come.
On Saturday (May 17, the record’s official birthday), Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun revealed a brand-new merch collection for that era, as well as a limited-edition 10th Anniversary Vinyl Coffee Table Book. But they’ve also been sharing old videos from that time period on social media, with changing captions possibly spelling out a future message, and an eye logo on their official channels gradually closing in the days since.
Today, May 20, they’ve posted a new video featuring a live performance of Heavydirtysoul, captioned, “Happy 10 years to Blurryface.” The caption reads: “Thank you for celebrating this album with us. We’ll see what’s next.”
“We’ll see what’s next” is exactly what drummer Josh says at the end of this throwback video, but knowing the band, it’s also them hinting that something else is happening in the future, too.
Josh’s full quote is as follows: “Being on tour is 22 hours of a day preparing for two hours onstage. And I think that’s what Tyler and I look forward to the most: those two hours. This is something that I think exceeds the things that Tyler and I talked about when we first met and became friends. The friendships that we’ve kind of made along the way, including people that travel with us, and including people that come out to one show, or people that come out to five shows. It’s the coolest thing in the world, and I hope to continue to do it, and I hope this lasts a long time. We’ll see what’s next.”
