Now Hear This: Henry Cox on the best new post-punk, powerviolence and post-hardcore
Boston Manor’s Henry Cox shares the new bands you should check out right now, including Static Dress, Calva Louise and The Murder Capital…
Calva Louise have unleashed a new single, La Corriente, which translates to ‘the current’ in Spanish.
Fresh from this weekend’s Download Festival, Calva Louise have just unveiled a brand-new single.
Entitled La Corriente (‘the current’ in Spanish), the song arrives in the midst of a busy touring schedule for the trio, and hears them adding a suitably raging banger into the setlist.
“La Corriente is about escaping prefabricated opinions and judgments, affecting our perception of self,” reveals Jess Allanic.
“By trying to be agreeable and trying to fit in, I let someone’s current drag me away from my own self in the past, undermining my opinions and eventually feeling trapped in expressing myself. This song for me is regaining that power back.”
