AC/DC announce 2025 North American tour
AC/DC will return to the United States and Canada next April and May for a full stadium tour...
AC/DC's Highway To Hell could have looked very different
This year AC/DC are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their firebreathing rock'n'roll classic Highway To Hell. The final record to feature Bon Scott on vocals, it gave the world such timeless anthems as Shot Down In Flames, Touch Too Much and Girl Got Rhythm. And, of course, the title track.
It also gave us an iconic AC/DC album cover, with a devilish Angus (complete with horns and tail) snarling into the lens while his band leer around him. Pure attitude. But it turns out this wasn't the original artwork at all. Posting on Instagram, the band have shared the rejected album sleeve, which is much more hellish.
It's still the same photo, but it's been set on bloody fire! You can make out the outlines of the band beneath the flames, as a guitar neck stretches out like a road into the sunset. Kind of like Guitar Hero, really.
"The original Highway To Hell cover was 'shot down in flames' by the American record company..." posted the band on Instagram. Check out the image for yourself below.
Rumours have been flying around of AC/DC’s imminent return since the start of the year. It was speculated that Brian Johnson would return to the band for a new album, with more stories emerging that they’re in the studio “doing something”, and there are even rumblings of a potential world tour.
