To mark the 30th anniversary of his passing last Friday, the BBC will be airing a brand-new documentary entitled Kurt Cobain: Moments That Shook Music this weekend.
The BBC have announced that they will be releasing a brand-new Kurt Cobain documentary this Saturday night.
Thirty years on from his passing on April 5, 1994, the Nirvana frontman will be remembered on BBC Two in Kurt Cobain: Moments That Shook Music – a new 45-minute programme that, according to a press release, ‘uses powerful and unseen archive footage to demystify the tragic moment when the Nirvana frontman took his own life’.
A brief synopsis describes: ‘One of musical history’s most shocking stories is told as never before, as footage captured by local fans in Seattle and raw material from news crews reporting at the time are woven together to create a picture of the events that unfolded as they happened.’
“Kurt Cobain’s life and death has turned into myth and legend since his passing,” explains Jonathan Rothery, Head of BBC Popular Music TV, in a statement. “This documentary tries to demystify that moment in time by telling the story direct from the scene, via fly on the wall footage filmed by those that were there.”
Kurt Cobain: Moments That Shook Music will premiere on BBC Two at 9:25pm this Saturday, April 13, and immediately after that the BBC will re-broadcast When Nirvana Came To Britain from 10:10pm. Then, if that’s not enough for you, from 11:10pm you can re-watch highlights from Foo Fighters’ 2019 Reading & Leeds headline set, as well as the band in Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
