Korn and adidas have shared a closer look at their second collab, which is out today (May 15).
Following the monumental success of last year’s long-awaited release, the band are back again for round two – this time teaming up with adidas for a collection specifically inspired by 1998’s Follow The Leader.
The limited new collection includes a spectacular green sequin track top and matching pants, which is exclusive to Korn’s own webstore. There’s also a new long sleeve tee, three pairs of socks, and a Korn cap.
Oh yeah, and not forgetting their iconic new footwear: some chunky Campus 2 shoes and an updated Supermodified sneaker – both of which, according to adidas, draw ‘on the aesthetic codes of sought-after vintage Korn t-shirts released during the album cycle of Follow The Leader’.
Speaking to Kerrang! in 2021 about Korn’s look early on and how he came to wear adidas, frontman Jonathan Davis reflected, “I wore an old army green jumpsuit when I first started. I looked like a damn rag doll. Then that old tracksuit called out to me. I picked up a pen, drew the Korn logo on it with my left hand, then I wore it onstage. Just like with the bagpipes [and the other weird shit we did] it was about making people think, ‘This isn’t normal! Rock guys wouldn’t wear this!’ It added to [that aura of], ‘What the fuck is this band?!’”
