Sylosis have unveiled a brand-new single, Erased.
Taken from next month’s seventh LP The New Flesh – due out on February 20 via Nuclear Blast – the band reveal that the track “was one of the last songs to be written for the album. As we were approaching the deadline to get everything submitted there was a pressure there that really helped shape this song into something special.
“There’s a massive chorus here and one of our favourite middle 8 sections that we’ve ever put together. We can’t wait to play this one live.”
Speaking to Kerrang! in an exclusive interview in November, frontman Josh Middleton shared how The New Flesh hears the band “come back stronger and better than before”, thanks to a more “collaborative” approach across the LP.
“It’s got me back to that feeling of being at band practice, cranking the amps up, and thinking, ‘What’s going to make you want to flip a table?’” he explained. “At our earliest gigs, that’s what we went for. ‘What’s the most intense thing we can do?’ That magical period of when you really discover heavy music, when you’re 15, 16, that’s stayed with me. There’s that energy and excitement of when you start a band, and you have your first band practice, and it just feels like, ‘Oh, this is powerful. This is fun.’”
