After finally getting a release date this year, the official trailer for Spinal Tap II: The End Continues has dropped.

A whopping 41 years after the legendary original mockumentary, the movie – which will see David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel and Derek Smalls finally reunite onstage – will hit cinemas on September 12, 2025. And we’re now getting our first look at what the band have been doing in the intervening years, as well as what’s going to go into their upcoming last show (with cameos from none other than Paul McCartney and Elton John!).

A synopsis via IGN explains that, “Spinal Tap wrestles with their checkered past to put on a concert that they hope will solidify their place in the pantheon of rock’n’roll.”

Meanwhile, a press release reveals: “Spinal Tap is back! After a 15-year hiatus, David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel and Derek Smalls are drawn back together for one last concert. Documentary filmmaker Marty DiBergi returns to explore what the band members have been up to and immortalise the concert reunion. The film blends the same musical mayhem and satire that made the original a cult classic and features some fantastic rock cameos in the process. Will this concert be their triumphant return, or just another Stonehenge-sized catastrophe?”
