Album review: The Amazons – 21st Century Fiction
Reading renegades The Amazons swap indie for riled up rock’n’roll on sassy fourth record.
Sleep Token’s fourth record Even In Arcadia is leading the charge for this week’s top spot, according to the Official Charts…
The Official Charts have announced that Sleep Token are on track for their first-ever UK Number One album.
Friday’s newly-unveiled Even In Arcadia is leading the way ahead of PinkPantheress’ Fancy That mixtape in second, and the likes of The Kooks, Arcade Fire and The Amazons’ 21st Century Fiction (which is expected to debut at Number Seven) all in the Top 10.
Previously, Vessel and co. peaked at Number Three with their breakout third LP Take Me Back To Eden. Its 2021 predecessor This Place Will Become Your Tomb landed at #39.
In Kerrang!’s 4/5 review of Even In Arcadia, we said that, “It isn’t quite an album of all-timers, but it’s more than enough to bring in wave after wave of gleaming gold spoils all over again. Crucially, of course, it’s something only Sleep Token could have made – and that is always a strength.”
Sleep Token headline Download Festival in June (get your tickets now) before heading out on their sold-out Even In Arcadia Tour in America later this year.
