Serj Tankian has announced a memoir, Down With The System
System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian will be releasing his “accidentally hatched philosophical memoir” next May in hardback, audio and e-book via Headline Publishing Group.

Serj Tankian has announced a brand-new memoir, Down With The System.
The Armenian-American nu-metal legend and political activist will be releasing his book in hardback, audio and e-book via Headline Publishing Group on May 14, 2024. It is described as “far more than just a rock’n’roll fable” telling the story of SOAD; it is reportedly also “an activist’s awakening, and it’s a spiritual journey from darkness toward light”.
“I’ve had a blast working on this accidentally hatched philosophical memoir,” enthuses Serj, “as it’s given me the unique opportunity to dive deep into my family history, my own motivations from a young age, and lessons I didn’t know I had learned.”
Senior commissioning editor Richard Roper shares: “Serj has never been a conventional rock star and this isn’t a conventional memoir. We are absolutely thrilled to be publishing this forthright, funny, and gloriously entertaining book – Serj’s fans are going to absolutely love it.”
