To celebrate the release of Hot Singles In Your Area, Scene Queen has unveiled her debut album’s final music video – and it’s a hugely important, honest one…
Scene Queen has unveiled the final music video from her recently-released debut album, Hot Singles In Your Area.
The closing track to the fantastic, 4/5-rated record, it shows a different side to Hannah Collins and celebrates her decision to “start living”, having been “neglecting” her human side in favour of career success for a while.
“I wrote an album about all of the things that made me want to become this alter ego and why I felt it was necessary,” she explains. “I wrote about trauma I experienced in the scene and in life and how I grew from it to reclaim my power and my sexuality along the way. This project has given me so much confidence and independence I never knew I could have and changed my life in way I could never say thank you enough for.
“But, with the growth of all things Scene Queen, I realized that while getting all the things I wanted career wise, I was neglecting the joy in my time as Hannah. So after the record, I decided it was time to start living. And I was hit so hard with support and love from a place I never expected. I wanted to wrap up this era with a little love song to my significant other and to everyone that has helped me transition into this crazy new era of my life. On my worst days you keep me going.
“This song was made months after I had wrapped all of the album writing sessions but felt like I had more to say. So thank you to Zach Jones, LØLØ and Kj Strock for helping me make such a big finish to the album. Thank you to Joey Fleming for being the easiest person to fall in love with for a video – and in real life. Thank you to Spaced Visuals for the grand finale to this saga. Thank you to Rosario Gutierrez, Bree Hart, and Suzi Mue for the live footage we were able to sprinkle in. And everyone else who made this beautiful video possible.”
