Mad Cool reveal first names for 2025 including Weezer, Thirty Seconds To Mars and St. Vincent
Weezer and Thirty Seconds To Mars join the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Iggy Pop and Noah Kahan atop next year’s Mad Cool Festival bill.
Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo has created his very own version of Spotify to host almost 3,500 of his demos made between 1975 and 2017.
Having previously sold thousands of demos online as part of a project for a course in web programming in 2020, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo has since gone one step further and created his very own version of Spotify to host all of his material.
The app – entitled Weezify, obviously – hosts almost 3,500 demos made by the musician between the years 1975 and 2017. Rivers has revealed it took him "all of 2021" to make the app, and has made it available on Apple and Google Play.
"A Spotify-like player for all of Rivers Cuomo's demos (1975 – 2017)," reads the description. "Close to 3,500 demos. Follow curated playlists. Create playlists of your favourites. I made this app myself. It took me all of 2021 to make. I hope you enjoy it."
This should hopefully tide fans over until Weezer's intriguing Seasons project arrives, in which the band will release a new record at the start of every – you guessed it – season.
“I guess I’ve had a lot of time on my hands so I wrote four albums that we’ll put out [in 2022],” the frontman previously confirmed. “It’s called Seasons, and each album comes out on the first day of the season. Spring is kind of like happy chill. And then we move through to dance rock, like a Strokes-style album for the fall, and then sad acoustic, Elliott Smith-style for winter.”
While 2021 was a busy year for the band with the release of OK Human and Van Weezer, Rivers and co. are already well on their way to outdoing themselves in 2022…
