Record Store Day 2020 will take place across three months this autumn
Record Store Day 2020 will now take place across three dates later this year.
Originally scheduled for April 18, Record Store Day was moved to June 20 following the coronavirus pandemic, but now the annual celebration of independent music retailers will take place across three Saturdays known as Drop Dates.
The three dates are: Saturday August 29, Saturday September 26 and Saturday October 24.
An updated list of which records will be available on certain dates will be released on June 1. Check the Record Store Day website for more information.
While past Record Store Days have also included live events and parties, this year – with attention paid to social distancing – the separate dates are about "supporting the stores, as well as the artists, labels, distribution and every other business behind the scenes making record stores work" according to a press statement.
You can find the full list of participating record stores here.
Record Store Day Black Friday is currently scheduled to take place on November 21 with Record Store Day 2021 slated for April 17, 2021.
