Following August’s Earthkeeper album, Pinkshift have already released another single – and it’s about wrath…
Surprise! Following August album Earthkeeper, Pinkshift have already dropped a brand-new single.
This one goes by the name Authority Problem, and the trio – vocalist Ashrita Kumar, guitarist Paul Vallejo and drummer Myron Houngbedji – emphatically state of its meaning: “Fuck ICE, fuck the left and the right, fuck the false decorum of rules and laws and executive orders just created to make people feel small and helpless. Only I know who I am, and if you disrespect me then I don’t care, you’ll feel my wrath.”
In our review of the band’s latest record, we said that, “Earthkeeper documents what it means to search for serenity, love and safety in a world that’s continually heading the other way. It’s about dealing with oppression and ignorance the best we can, all while daring to reach for better days. It questions what our purpose is if not to respect what we have, and respect each other, all while going in a heavier direction instrumentally that Pinkshift execute brilliantly.”
