The Bronx’s alter-egos Mariachi El Bronx have announced a brand-new album.
Entitled Mariachi El Bronx IV, the record is due out on February 12 via ATO, and according to frontman Matt Caughthran the songwriting process “started as a battle between love and death, but became a way to process all the chaos of the world”.
The group – completed by Joby J. Ford (guitar, vihuela, accordion), Jared Shavelson (drums), Keith Douglas (trumpet), Ray Suen (violin), Brad Magers (trumpet), Ken Horne (jarana) and Vincent Hidalgo (guitarrón) – are previewing what’s to come with new single Forgive Or Forget, which opens up the record. Matt reveals it’s about a character who is “completely dishevelled and a little washed out, looking back on their life in a way that’s kind of hazy”.
