System Of A Down singer Serj Tankian has contributed vocals to Euringer, the new album from Mindless Self Indulgence's frontman Jimmy Urine.
The track, If It Ain’t You Today It Will Be You Tomorrow, was partly inspired by First They Came, a poem by German pastor Martin Niemöller.
"Jimmy and I have been friends for years and I was excited to collaborate with him on his record," says Tankian. "We’re both fans of nutty witty humor, so when he told me to just go off with whatever words come to mind, I grabbed some poetry book titles of mine I had in the vocal booth and randomly spewed them off in the mic. He then cut the ones he liked and mixed them.
"His record is bombastic and diverse, unlike most shit out there," he adds.
Former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, Grimes and Jimmy’s wife Chantal Claret also appear on the album, which will be released on October 19 through Metropolis Records.
