Liquid Mike have just unveiled a brand-new single, Claws.

Taken from upcoming album Hell Is An Airport, the track tackles sleeplessness – which is ironic, given its brilliantly upbeat and energetic sound. “Something that seemed to happen to me more and more in the last few years is I just get anxious at night,” explains vocalist/guitarist Mike Maples of the meaning behind the track. “It makes it hard to sleep, and then when you finally do sleep the sleep was so bad that it feels awful to get up. Bad cycle that repeats itself.”

Hell Is An Airport is due out on September 12, with Mike revealing of the whole record: “Airports are these weird, intermediary spaces that have always made me feel like I’m stuck in limbo. This album deals a lot with themes surrounding feeling stuck and unable to crawl out. Airports are stressful and congested and bureaucratic and never sleep; I imagine hell operates very much like an airport.”
