Album review: Cult Of The Lamb – Hymns Of The Unholy
An all-star line-up turn the smash indie game’s futuristic soundtrack into sublime metal bangers.
The melodic metalcore legends are gearing up to release their next full-length record.
Modern melodic metalcore forefathers Killswitch Engage have not released any new music since their last record, Incarnate, over three years ago. Now, on Instagram, the quintet have deleted all previous posts and added a single image in their place: a teaser that has them poised for a fresh start with a brand new studio project.
The minimalist post features the word “Unleashed” and the date June 25, 2019, over a black background and a handful of grey skulls. The caption repeats the words on the image, providing no further details about this monumental band’s next music to come.
Check out the teaser here:
When discussing The End Of Heartache with Kerrang!, guitarist and mastermind of Killswitch Engage Adam D brought up how the band was more focused on releasing new material than celebrating the past. “It’s kind of just a flash… and then we move on for the next thing,” he explains.
“It’s funny, our bassist, Mike [D’Antonio], was like ‘Hey, should we be thinking about doing a 15th anniversary tour for this record?’ and I was like ‘No! We should be thinking about this new record!’”
Killswitch Engage will be embarking on a co-headlining tour with sludge legends Clutch and openers in the form of New York hardcore warriors Cro-Mags JM. This is likely to be the first time Killswitch will perform their new material, so check out the dates listed below:
