JPEGMAFIA drops new director’s cut of last year’s I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU album

JPEGMAFIA has just unveiled a new extended record, I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU (DIRECTOR’S CUT).

The rapper’s 4/5-rated album from last year – which we said in our review was a “simultaneous celebration and indictment that will stand the test of time for decades to come” – has gotten a biiiiiiig makeover, with an amended tracklist order integrating 13 brand-new songs.

I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU (DIRECTOR’S CUT) comes in two parts, with the first disc ‘adding deeper layers’ to the original, and the second ‘being comprised of bonus tracks that fit within the project’s sonic universe’, according to a press release.

The release arrives amid a busy 2025 for JPEGMAFIA, with his LAY DOWN MY LIFE TOUR taking place right now, and some major support slots with the mighty Linkin Park happening later on in the year.
