Before their last-ever show at ArcTanGent on Friday, August 15, Ithaca have unveiled one final single.

Following 2022’s excellent second album They Fear Us, the band’s musical parting gift is a self-titled track that perfectly wraps up their journey as a whole. “Ithaca means home, the place you return to when the journey is complete,” they explain in a joint statement. “In this final song, we put this band to rest. Every memory, every tear, every laugh is in here. Thank you for everything. Om namo naryanaya.”

In their October 2024 statement announcing the end of the band, Ithaca said that it “was a huge decision to make, but it’s the right time”. They reasoned that, “There’s been no falling out or creative differences, in fact we’re closer than ever, we’re just no longer able to balance our life responsibilities with giving you the standard of art that you deserve, and feel like we’ve fulfilled more than our wildest dreams could have imagined in terms of where this band would take us.”
