After being criticised by a fan for attending a Black Lives Matter protest, Machine Gun Kelly tells them, "I don't want your racist money."
Machine Gun Kelly has already been incredibly vocal in supporting the Black Lives Matter protests, having tweeted his disgust at George Floyd's death before later covering Rage Against The Machine's protest anthem Killing In The Name with blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
The rapper has also been calling out those who have stood against this movement, responding to one fan in particular who tweeted that they were on their way to delete his albums having seen that he would be attending a protest.
"Good, I don't want your racist money," Machine Gun Kelly quickly responded, having since spent days out on the streets in Hollywood, even handing out snacks and water to those who were also joining the cause.
Following the death of George on May 25, MGK took to Twitter to write, “Fuck white privilege. I’m ashamed someone who looks like me could treat another human like this, but they been doing it since the beginning of time. Our generation has be the one’s to stop it. My loyalty’s with the people. Fuck the system. Fight the system.”
Then, when he and Travis launched their Rage cover last week, he posted along with it the words: “They wrote this song in 1992. It’s been 28 years since and every word still applies.”
