Hear Harper and Kasey Karlsen cover Bad Omens’ Dethrone

Not for the first time, Harper has just unleashed a killer Bad Omens cover.

The young star has teamed up with Deadlands’ vocalist Kasey Karlsen for a rendition of Dethrone, which is originally taken from the Virginia metalcore crew’s 2019 album Finding God Before God Finds Me.

Posting about it on Instagram, Kasey enthused: “Harper and I have been so excited for this cover and thanks to @phoenixstudiosmusic it was all possible. They did such an incredible job to make sure you follow all the talent in this video!”

Of course, this is just the latest endeavour in a long line of awesome stuff from Harper in 2024: she’s released a couple of her own singles, I Hope You Choke and Bird In A Cage, and of course last month she made her live debut with a set at Download Festival.

In K!’s huge round-up from Donington this year, we praised Harper for “easily going toe to toe with artists three or four times her age”. “Her throat-shredding howls aren’t just powerful but beautifully controlled,” we said, “meaning she absolutely shines throughout the likes of Weight Of The World and the clearly Spiritbox-inspired Falling.”
