French heavy heroes Gojira are looking like they’ll be making an appearance at tomorrow’s Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony!

While the line-up for this year’s event has been kept under wraps, local newspaper Le Parisien has this week shared that the likes of Céline Dion, Lady Gaga and Aya Nakamura will be there among thousands of performers on the Seine river on Friday, July 26.

Translated via TimeOut, what has most caught our eye among the famous names expected is Gojira, who are reportedly doing an ‘original’ collaboration with opera singer Marina Viotti.

Likewise sortiraparis.com have also shared these reports today under the headline: “Who is Gojira, the metal band tipped for the opening ceremony?” They write that the teased collab with Marina is “a wonderful artistic proposition, and one that will surprise many if it is confirmed!”

According to the biography on her website, Marina has previously “experimented with jazz, gospel and heavy metal”. She also sang in heavy band Soulmaker, so we’re very, very excited and intrigued to hear what’s to come from this teased performance with Gojira.

See her in action below.
