Amy Lee says Afterlife is “the first of many” new Evanescence songs
Evanescence’s Amy Lee has revealed that the band are working on “a lot of songs right now for the new album”.
Evanescence have shared a teaser video featuring Amy Lee – and it looks like Netflix have something to do with whatever it may be…
Updated story: Devil May Cry x Evanescence is happening! The band are releasing new single Afterlife for the show this Friday, March 28…
Original story: Evanescence have sent thousands of fans into speculation mode with a new teaser video.
On March 21 the band’s official social media pages posted a video of vocalist Amy Lee counting three and two on her fingers before giving the devil horns (or possibly counting four in a more metal way?!).
What’s even more interesting is that this post could have something to do with Netflix, with the streaming account commenting the eyes emoji – aka the universal symbol for ‘We’re up to something’ – underneath the video on Instagram.
So far, fans think this is all likely related to forthcoming animated series Devil May Cry, which is due to hit Netflix on April 3. Creator Adi Shankar took to X to share Evanescence’s teaser video with several shocked face emojis, and even hinted in January that, “Someone should recut the title sequence to Evanescence.”
Via Tudum, Devil May Cry’s synopsis is as follows: “Sinister forces are at play at the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon hunter for hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.”
A March 11 trailer featured Papa Roach’s iconic Last Resort, which you can watch below:
Catch Evanescence supporting Halsey on her For My Last Trick: The Tour at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on May 14, and see them as special guests to My Chemical Romance at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on September 13.
