Download festival has launched their Mind The Dog campaign
Download festival has announced details of a brand new mindfulness programme that will run throughout the festival weekend.
The Mind The Dog initiative will run sessions every morning, afternoon and evening from June 13-16.
Downloaders will be able to take part in hour-long classes in the The Doghouse – reimagined as Mind The Dog during daytime. According to a statement from the festival, morning meditation will include curated live music sessions designed to prepare you for the ay ahead, while the afternoon sessions include a healing sound bath, allowing fans to pause and reconnect with themselves. The evening class are designed to being a calming focus to fans and elevate their state of consciousness.
"We often go through life on autopilot, getting caught up in the stressors, the anxieties, the intensity of it all. We’re rarely consciously in control of our turbulent mind," says Enter Shikari's Rou Reynolds, who headline the Avalanche Stage at Download this year. "Mindfulness allows us to regain control as we learn to observe our thoughts instead of getting caught up in them.
"It has been an incredible help to me and I couldn’t recommend it more. Not only does it help with anxiety and depression, but it also improves focus, emotional intelligence, compassion, tolerance and objectivity and has even been proven to help boost your immune system. Big up Download for introducing this programme to the festival"
More information about Mind The Dog can be found on the Download festival website.
Download festival takes place at Donington Park, UK, on June 14-16. This year's extravaganza will feature Tool, Slipknot, Def Leppard, Lamb Of God, Slayer, Smashing Pumpkins and more. Get your tickets now.
