Deaf Havana have just unveiled a brand-new single, Hurts To Be
Lonely.
The track is taken from the duo’s forthcoming seventh album We’re
Never Getting Out – although it was seemingly written long before the rest of
the record, as James Veck-Gilodi reveals it’s “one of the only songs
that actually made it over from the original album that we scrapped”.
“This song had single handily driven us more insane than any
other song, once Matty [guitarist and James’ brother] and I just left the
studio because we couldn’t actually hack it anymore,” the frontman continues. “However, it is a song that means a lot to me, it covers the
feelings of being completely alone or making your partner feel completely alone
in a relationship. I barely remember writing this song but it was one of those ones
that just kind of falls out of you.
“A lot of the lyrical content is about lying
about being sober but secretly drinking and taking drugs and ending up
completely isolating yourself from everyone else around you.”
