Exciting news! Dayseeker have finished recording their brand-new album.

Following 2022’s Dark Sun, the Orange County metalcore stars have once again teamed up with producer Dan Braunstein, having begun work on the record last September. Now they confirm that album six is “done being recorded”, and in a post on Instagram the band thank Dan for “always bringing our ideas to life and taking our music the next step further”.

Speaking to Kerrang! late last year, vocalist Rory Rodriguez teased that this new LP put “our other music to shame”, and hinted that, “Maybe there’s a happy song on there… but it’s pretty dark so far.”

He also reflected on Dayseeker’s growth in sound over the years, and the different fan reactions to it. “I’ve been on the other side, when a band puts out an album that I didn’t love, but I’ve never felt the motivation to go to their social media and let them know I didn’t like their album,” the singer revealed. “When we put out [2019 album] Sleeptalk, it felt like our old fans thought we’d cracked the code on our band and new fans couldn’t believe they hadn’t heard us before.

“When we put our Dark Sun, I didn’t think it was that crazy of a genre jump, but there were people who said it was too slow and wasn’t Sleeptalk, holding on to that record like it’s the Holy Grail. It felt personal to me to have people saying it sucked on the day it came out, halfway through listening to it. It took me a second to snap out of it.”
