Album review: Hayley Williams – Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party
On her most explorative solo release yet, Hayley Williams explores depression, loss, reputation, and how the ego impacts us all…
David Byrne’s collaboration with Hayley Williams is here, arriving very shortly before the release of his new solo album Who Is The Sky?
Hayley Williams fans are getting absolutely spoiled for new music right now: fresh from her 5/5-rated solo album Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, she’s teamed up with David Byrne.
The Paramore and Talking Heads legends join forces on new single What Is The Reason For It?, which is taken from David’s solo album Who Is The Sky? (dropping in full tomorrow, September 5 via Matador).
Previously, Paramore covered Talking Heads’ Burning Down The House for A24 tribute album Stop Making Sense, and David returned the favour by doing After Laughter’s Hard Times for Record Store Day.
He’s said of this upcoming record: “Every new set of songs, every song even, is a new adventure. There’s always a bit of, ‘How do I work this?’ I’ve found that not every collaboration works, but often when they do, it’s because I’m able to clearly impart what it is I’m trying to do. They hopefully get that, and as a result, we’re now joined together heading to the same unknown place.”
