Hear Loathe’s Kadeem France on the new NOWHERE2RUN track, Ant In The Afterbirth
Loathe frontman Kadeem France joins forces with Code Orange’s Jami Morgan and Eric ‘Shade’ Balderose for new NOWHERE2RUN banger Ant In The Afterbirth.
Jami Morgan has shared an update on Code Orange’s current situation as a band, admitting that things are essentially on pause “for a good reason”.
Code Orange’s Jami Morgan has revealed that the band are currently “on the shelf”, meaning they’ve seemingly gone on hiatus.
In a new interview on the Nik Nocturnal Podcast, which you can watch below, the vocalist explains that his Pittsburgh crew have no future plans at the moment, despite his extremely positive feelings about 2023 album The Above (“I feel really artistically fulfilled”).
“We don’t [have any plans], you know, Code Orange is on the shelf, and I think it’s there for a good reason, for many reasons,” Jami says (via ThePRP). “I think you can put two, two and four together, and you’ll probably come to the answer.”
Jami cryptically adds of how he sees a future in which Code Orange could have continued, which sadly doesn’t exist: “If it was right, and if things were right, and things were happening the right way, then we would have did it. But I felt that they weren’t, for many reasons, and so did others. And we said, ‘Fuck that. That’s not how we operate.’ We’re not gonna fight against the current here.
“I’m gonna die like a warrior on my shield, not like a fucking bitch, screaming and crying and kicking and moaning. So it wasn’t that glorious. But at the same time, I think that the band will accrue love. There was so much art and love put into the band, dude, and so much thought. And I think that over time, hopefully that’ll accrue, and maybe the trends and stuff will come around and swing to it.
“I still 100 per cent believe it’s very forward thinking, and I think it always kind of was, and I’m very proud of that,” Jami says. “I’m very proud of it.”
