“I’m freaking out!” Linkin Park’s new album From Zero hits Number One in the UK charts
See Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong accepting their trophy from the Official Charts to celebrate Linkin Park’s new album From Zero hitting Number One.
It’s official! Lady Gaga will join Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker sequel, Folie à Deux (we’re still very much hoping for a Fall Out Boy tie-in somewhere, though).
Back in June, rumours hit that Lady Gaga was in “early talks” to star as Harley Quinn in the follow-up to 2019’s excellent Joker.
And now the pop sensation has officially revealed her role in Joker: Folie à Deux, with a new video on social media showing her and lead actor Joaquin Phoenix’s silhouettes dancing. Soundtracked by some classy music, does it also properly confirm that the film will definitely be a musical?!
The post also adds Joker: Folie à Deux’s release date, with fans having to wait until October 4, 2024 to see it in cinemas. We’re sure it’ll be worth it.
Given the name of the film, of course Fall Out Boy joined in on the fun when it was first announced – seeing as their 2008 album also has the title Folie à Deux.
Reflecting on that album in an interview with Kerrang!, bassist Pete Wentz shared that, “People worry that we don’t like this record, but I like it. It was a special one. We stepped out on it, but maybe we stepped out a little too far, looking back. It happened during this crazy sonic departure in culture, where the world went from having Sugar, We’re Goin Down on the radio to switching to four on the floor dance music. We had to put out a record in that context and it was so weird.”
