RADAR Festival have announced that Bob Vylan “will not be appearing” at this weekend’s event.
The duo – Bobby and Bobbie – were set to headline the Saturday of the Manchester O2 Victoria Warehouse bash, but after a controversial appearance at Glastonbury on June 28, RADAR have posted a statement that: “Bob Vylan will not be appearing at RADAR Festival this weekend.” Now, the festival’s website reads ‘Headliner TBA’ for July 5.
Since Glastonbury and Bobby’s ‘Death, death to the IDF’ chant, the band have been investigated by police, criticised by the Prime Minister and Jewish groups, and dropped by agents and management.
Yesterday (July 1), Bob Vylan posted a statement that they are “not for the death of Jews, Arabs or any other race or group of people”, and that they are “for the dismantling of a violent military machine whose own soldiers were told to use ‘unnecessary lethal force’ against innocent civilians waiting for aid. A machine that has destroyed much of Gaza.”
