The big review: Wacken 2024
Kommen sie, bitte, und listen to metal: Architects, Amon Amarth, Jesus Piece, Korn, Scorpions and tons more descend on Europe’s heaviest party!
Over the weekend, Bloodstock 2026 got a whole lot thrashier with new additions Testament and Thrown Into Exile.
Fresh from selling out of weekend tickets, Bloodstock have made a couple more line-up additions.
The Catton Park bash – which takes place between August 6 – 9, 2026 – will now host a special Ronnie James Dio main stage set from thrash heroes Testament, with the announcement coming hot off the heels of their new album Para Bellum. Plus, they’ll be joined by fellow Californians Thrown Into Exile.
In our review of Testament’s 2022 set at Bloodstock, Kerrang! said that, “You know what you’re getting with Testament: big riffs, breakneck tempos, no nonsense. Taking the stage after their Bay Area thrash compatriots Exodus, there is a sense of business as usual as the Berkeley bashers rip through bangers old and new like Rise Up, The New Order and Children Of The Next Level with the same high-octane power they have for nearly four decades. But as they continue to escalate the circle-pit violence with the more and more brilliant likes of D.N.R. (Do Not Resuscitate), Into The Pit and Alone In The Dark, you begin to wonder whether they shouldn’t actually be headlining a gathering like this. They’ve certainly got the stamina to match their pedigree.”
Elsewhere, next year’s Bloodstock will host Lamb Of God, Slaughter To Prevail, Judas Priest, Saxon, Body Count, Cryptopsy, Wednesday 13, Leprous, Carpenter Brut, Sepultura and loads more.
