AC/DC announce 2025 North American tour
AC/DC will return to the United States and Canada next April and May for a full stadium tour...
An AC/DC covers concert will be taking place on a Perth highway to mark the 40th anniversary of Bon Scott's death.
A huge AC/DC celebration event has just been announced in Perth, Australia next year – and some pretty amazing measures have been taken to put it on.
A whopping 10km of highway will close for eight hours to host 10 slow-moving lorries with bands on top performing all AC/DC covers in March 2020. The one-of-a-kind rolling event will mark the 40th anniversary of Bon Scott's death, with the tribute line-up so far consisting of Amyl And The Sniffers, Steve ‘n’ Seagulls, Shonen Knife and the WA Police Band.
The musical journey will take place between Canning Bridge and Fremantle on the Canning Highway: the very same stretch of road that we've all heard on 1979’s legendary Highway To Hell.

While two lanes of the Canning Highway will host the lorries themselves, another two will be set up for the public to watch on from. As well as the on-the-road show, there will be parks and other stops en route hosting AC/DC events on the day, too.
Event producer Pete Stone has revealed to The Guardian that he's spent seven months so far in bureaucratic negotiations – but it hasn't been as tricky as perhaps expected to set up.
“There will be some inconvenience to some people, of course… but there was almost no conversations along the lines of, ‘We can’t do this,’” he says. “I think it reflects a sort of maturity in Perth – I’m not sure if you could do this 10 years ago here.”

He also added of the idea behind this epic AC/DC event: “There’s something really powerful in [the image of] reclaiming a highway for a day, and bringing it back to the people. Turning it into a 10km high street for one day, which links every community along the way? People warm to that idea.”
