Fortress Festival have just revealed two more bands for next year’s event.

The black metal bash will be hosting an album-in-full set from Akercocke on the Grand Hall main stage, where fans will exclusively get to hear 2003’s Choronzon in its entirety. On top of that, Whoredom Rife have been announced as headliners for the Ocean Room stage.

“Following our initial announcements for 2026, which have seen over 50 per cent of tickets sold, we’re thrilled to continue building a unique line-up for our audience,” says fest founder Gary Stephenson. “Having Akercocke perform Choronzon in full on the main stage is a true honour, and securing Whoredom Rife to headline our third stage is another testament to the diverse and high-quality acts we aim to bring to Fortress.”

“Akercocke will perform Choronzon, in full, at this historic venue,” add Akercocke. “As we begin the countdown to May 2026 we invite all to join us in celebrating Choronzon at this truly special event.”

Fortress takes place at Scarborough Spa from May 30 – 31, 2026.
